Local patrols to address drug dealing concerns |
||
Dear Resident,
Due to ongoing concern of drug dealing in Woodston, our neighbourhood support team (NST), who focus on county lines, cuckooing, exploitation, and proactive safeguarding, have been dedicating their shifts to spend some time in the area.
While on these plain clothed patrols, they:
Arrested an 18-year-old boy who was spotted with known drug users in Cubitt Way and found in possession of a zombie knife and class A drugs. He was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for a year, for the possession of the knife and has been bailed for the drugs offences.
Witnessed a suspected drug deal on the footpath near Railworld. The man resisted officers and fled but left behind his drugs and cash! With the help of our southern NST colleagues, the 38-year-old man was arrested in St Neots and later charged with various drugs offences. He has been remanded until his next court appearance later this month.
Arrested a wanted man who was found hiding in loft insulation in Orchard Street.
These dedicated shifts have allowed the team to gather vital intelligence that will help them in tackling the issue and identifying those involved.
Do you have information or concerns about drug dealing? Report it here.
Kind regards, | ||
